Week 1 - June 17 Concert
The Chemical City Band will perform its first concert of the 2015 season on Wednesday, June 17 at 7:30 PM at the Nicholson-Guenther band shell in Midland's Central Park at Rodd & E. Collins Streets (across from Central Middle School parking lot).
This 106th season will feature a number of guest conductors, including Chris O'Connell for the first 2 concerts. Chris has just been named the Assistant Band Director for Midland High School. The Chemical City Band will be looking for a permanent director this season due to the loss of Jim Huber to the Midland area. Jim, who completed 14 years as our conductor, has moved on to a new position as administrator for the Otsego Christian School, interim pastor at a local church, and performing (yes, he is a fine clarinet player) in the Gaylord Community Band. We wish him and wife Terri well in their new endeavors.
Our first concert will be shared with a new musical group in town, the MidMichigan Brass Band, directed by Megan Barnard.

Concluding thoughts for 2014
This has been an amazing season for the band. We played to large audiences and shared a wide variety of music covering a 400 year range of musical styles. In the end, this band is both a museum piece and a modern day "community gem" that is well worth preserving for the next generation & beyond.
Our friends at MCTV have done their usual amazing job of producing the July 9 concert for rebroadcast over cable channel 191 (Charter) and channel 99 (AT&T U-Verse). Scheduled time for August are:
Saturday, August 9 8:00am & 8:00pm
Sunday, August 10 8:00am & 8:00pm
Monday, August 11 8:00am
Friday, August 15 8:00pm
Saturday, August 16 2:00pm
Sunday, August 17 2:00pm
More dates and times to follow. Check the MCTV schedule for future broadcasts.
If you have not yet invested in the long term support of the band, please consider the Chemical City Band Endowment Fund #545 (through the Midland Area Community Foundation). Just as we all pitched in and restored the band shell for future generations, let us all "band together" to fund this band's operation in perpetuity - "for good, for ever".

Many thanks for your loyal and ongoing support,
