Plans set for the 2010 season

The Chemical City band will return for our 101st season with a series on concerts on Wednesday nights during the months of June and July. The new concert start time is 7:30pm, while the location remains the historic Ted Nicholson Band Shell at Central Park.

Performances are scheduled for June 16, 23, 30, July 7, 14, 21, and 28.

As we are no longer sponsored by the City of Midland, the band will be seeking donations to support the costs of operation. Check back regularly to see how you can help finance one of Midland's finest and longest standing summer traditions.

2010 season of the Chemical City Band

The budget challenges in the City of Midland have forced the elimination of all funding for the operations of the band. After consulting with band members, we plan to pursue a different model for funding (based on donations), but our audience will hopefully notice few changes. Its the beginning of our 2nd century of operation, and we are changing with the times.

The concert season will likely begin on June 16, and will continue through the end of July. The band will not be a part of the 4th of July concert this year, so we will have our own Patrioitic Night on the previous concert (June 30). Among our guests this summer will include a shared concert with the Gateway Community Band (from Clare).

Check back for more information as we get closer to June. And remember, our new concert start time will be 7:30pm (not 8pm as we have traditionally done).
